Allows the use of Regional Transmission Organization payments to fund Efficiency Maine's EV rebate programs.

Maine Wont Wait: A Four-Year Plan for Climate Action

Maine Won’t Wait is a four year climate plan packed with actionable strategies and goals to emit less carbon, produce energy from renewable sources and protect our natural resources, communities and people from worst case scenarios.

forest or farm conservation easements.

Recommended by Maine's four-year climate action plan, Maine Won't Wait, the Partnership offers communities support for both climate mitigation and adaptation activities. It is administered by the Governor's Office of Policy Innovation and the Future.

Maine Community Resilience Partnership

The Fund, first announced by Governor Mills in December 2021, was a recommendation of the state’s climate action plan, Maine Won’t Wait, to support community efforts to build climate resilience in Maine.

Maine Infrastructure Adaptation Fund

This dashboard tracks numerical targets included in Maine Won’t Wait to inform the public and help evaluate whether evidence-based adjustments, enhancements or replacements to policies are needed in pursuit of the plan’s climate objectives. Over time, the dashboard will expand to include other key Maine Won’t Wait metrics as updated data becomes available, new programs are established, and state and federal climate investments are realized.

A municipality shall allow residential units within buildings located in an area zoned for commercial use, including, but not limited to, buildings that are vacant or partially vacant retail property, except when a municipality determines that flooding or other natural hazards in the zone makes a building located in an area zoned for commercial use unfit for residential use. 

A municipality must comply with the requirements of this section beginning July 1, 2027.

Triennial Plan VI (Fiscal Years 2026-2028)

The Maine Public Utilities Commission approved Efficiency Maine Trust's Triennial Plan VI, a strategic plan to reduce energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy costs for Maine residents and businesses from 2026 to 2028. The Plan is expected to result in 38,000 homes being fully heated by heat pumps; 9,900 homes being weatherized; and $490 million in electricity rate suppression.
